Circulatory System
Massage enhances circulation through lymph and
blood. Massage manually moves the fluid in the body. It reduces the distance
between capillaries and cells. This means that massage helps to assist in
the cellular nutrition of blood. This promotes healing in the body. Massage
also helps to improve circulation by relaxing muscles in sustained contraction
and interrupting the pain-tension cycle. Muscles in sustained contraction
impair venous flow. Massage also helps to reduce high blood pressure.
